Separating the customers and the chef this venue becomes a visual food experience, through watching the chef prepare. a seasonally changing menu focusing on Tasmanian produce through supporting the local growers and markets. Each time spent at this venue has been an enjoyable experience that you do not find elsewhere. small fry aims to produce a real paddock to plate experience, which is guided through the interaction between the chef and the customer. Not many eateries around hobart serve up one of my favourite breakfasts, porridge. on winter mornings small fry is the place to go if you want to be served up rolled oat vanilla porridge, mulled wine poached pears and lemon curd.

Berta   323A Elizabeth Street North Hobart 7000 breakfast morning tea lunch afternoon tea coffee An ever changing and evolving menu becomes a popular venue to return to. seasonal offerings influence the reason as to why particular meals become placed upon the menu. The mixed grain porridge is a selection for winter compared to a homemade granola or waffles with whipped yoghurt and seasonal fruit for summer. Through the experiences received at Berta I am continually pleased with the quality of food produced. Food that not only comforts the soul but becomes experimental in terms of the flavour combinations, presentation and experience.
